Why I Choose Tar Over Zip

Not because I'm afraid of being mistaken as a Windoze noob. :P

The reason? Zip files have size limits, and my archives are usually huge - close to the size of a DVD.

If you're trying to turn something larger than 2GB (for 32-bit systems) or 4GB (for 64-bit systems) into an archive file, create it as a tarball.
