KOSHIGAYA, Saitama -- A high school computer teacher caught taking upskirt shots of a schoolgirl in his class has been arrested, police said.
Police said that on Valentine's Day, the teacher used a hidden camera to film up the skirt of one of the girls in a class he taught. He had set up the tiny hidden camera shaped like a screw in bookshelves in the classroom, attached it to his personal computer and aimed the camera up the girl's skirt. He also obtained footage of upskirts of another girl.
Students realized something was amiss when they noticed footage of their classroom on the teacher's computer and alerted school officials. The teacher allegedly admitted he had been filming the children since January.
School officials said the teacher had been employed on a contract basis in April 2007. He was adept with computers and had been well-liked among students. School officials apologized to students at a March ceremony to mark the end of the school year, and also held meetings to explain the incident to parents.
