"A national poll shows that U.S. support for Israel is at a five-year high, with 84% of America's "opinion elite" considering Israel one of America's strongest allies. The same poll shows that 92% of those surveyed consider Iran -- more than any other country in the world -- the most serious and immediate threat to the United States.
The "opinion elite" group comprises college graduates with a minimum household income of $75,000 who regularly get news from national newspapers, newsmagazines, and television or radio news. Commissioned by The Israel Project, the survey found that 73% of America's opinion elite understand that Islamic extremism is responsible for instability in the Middle East. By contrast, just 12% of those polled said Israel and its policies were at fault for instability in the region."
