I installed a Linux distribution for a commercial client recently and there have been some problems in the conversion and today it was Word documents. I am not a technical writer so I know little of this type of thing. We worked together for several hours today and tested editing of files by booting the Windows partition and then the Linux partition. I was stunned! The Linux OS was at least 5 times faster and booted quickly while we had a break while Windows loaded.
I was not promoting Linux as a solution, rather as an option and it was the customer said that they wanted to learn Linux because of the great advantages in speed and usability. It was obvious that she was right when it is looked at in a side by side comparison. I like Linux for my reasons because of security and the ability to modify source, but it has become a really effective tool for business and I will recommend that all my clients convert now.

Yep, military-grade Linux beats Windoze hands down in any setting.
