Warning: Laser printers could be hazardous to your health

Researchers at the Queensland University of Technology found out that some laser printers may emit as much particulate matter as a cigarette smoker inhales and pose serious health risks.

The emissions are a significant health threat because of the particles' small size, which makes them easy to inhale and easily lodged in the deepest and smallest passageways of the lungs. The effects, can range from simple irritation to much more serious illnesses, including cardiovascular problems or cancer.

It is recommended that people make sure rooms with laser printers are well ventilated.
