Unpatched Symantec flaw leads to U. of Colorado breach

Wonderful! That's just the sort of news I've been waiting for. :-)

"An unpatched flaw in a Symantec Corp. anti-virus management console resulted in the compromise of a server containing the names and Social Security numbers of nearly 45,000 students at the University of Colorado at Boulder."

And a similarly embarrassing incident:

"A Symantec antivirus signature update has mistakenly quarantined two critical system files in the Simplified Chinese version of Windows XP, crippling thousands of PCs in China."
