With the rather tentative adoption of Windows Vista in the general populace, Dell's limited gamble on Linux could well turn out to be winning move: the Linux machines will most likely be less expensive than a Windows machine and have more relaxed hardware requirements. Plus, if these things take off, it won't be long before HP, Acer and other manufacturers jump on the bandwagon as well. If all goes as planned, Dell may well go down in history as the big company that really turned the tide for desktop Linux."
